RFID warehouse management

Eight functional modules of RFID warehouse management system

Table of Contents

At present, there are still many enterprises that use manual operations or computer semi-active management for warehouse management, and its drawbacks are obvious. For example, it requires a lot of manpower and time to place standard items, regularly organize inventory, and register incoming and outgoing inventory, which makes warehouse management very cumbersome, and the cost and benefit are inversely proportional, restricting the level of enterprise RFID warehouse management.

Although traditional one-dimensional and two-dimensional code technologies can achieve classification management of items, barcode technology relies on visible light scanning and reflection recognition, with low recognition rate, slow speed, sensitivity to media such as water and oil, and easy damage and contamination. The information storage database is limited and cannot meet the needs of modern enterprises for warehouse management. Therefore, you need a more advanced IoT technology – RFID warehouse management system solution.

RFID, as a new automatic identification technology, recognizes objects through wireless radio frequency signals and has the advantages of high recognition accuracy, reliable performance, large storage information, and resistance to oil and sewage washing. It can meet the automatic identification needs in extreme working environments. Applying it to warehouse management systems can greatly improve the level of warehouse management.

Functional modules of RFID warehouse management system

1. Function permission setting module

Mainly creating users and granting them usage permissions, such as adding, deleting, auditing, setting, and not being able to use certain functions.

9377520
Passive RFID Reader Integrated with Impinj E710
Item: SRIRU6D-1E
Protocol: ISO/IEC 18000-6C, EPCglobal Class 1 Gen 2
Size: 260*260*60mm

2. Basic Information Module

Mainly refers to operational data used in daily life, such as warehouse, employees, product names, types, specifications, amounts, suppliers, storage locations, and so on. At the same time, unique basic RFID tags can be generated for each batch of products and storage locations to ensure subsequent scanning operations.

3. Procurement module

Mainly used to create purchase orders and complete daily procurement tasks.

4. Warehouse module

  • Inbound: Purchase inbound, normal inbound, return inbound, production inbound, and other inbound, automatically generate inbound tracking numbers for easier searching.
  • Outbound: Sales outbound, normal outbound, return outbound, order outbound, and other outbound, automatically generate outbound tracking numbers for easier searching.
  • Inventory: It includes small functions such as expiration warning, quantity upper and lower limit warning, inventory freezing/thawing, etc. Whenever inventory is received or issued, the system automatically adds and deletes corresponding inventory and generates corresponding reports.
  • Special product warehouse: When customers need to distinguish products, a virtual warehouse can be established to manage the products that need to be distinguished, with each function consistent with the normal product warehouse.
  • Transfer: For transfers between different warehouses, transfer order numbers can be automatically generated, supporting the arbitrary transfer of goods between different warehouses.
  • Inventory: Daily inventory, monthly inventory, annual inventory, etc., mainly conducted through RFID handheld reading method, with fast speed, high accuracy, and automatic generation of inventory reports.
  • Batch: including batch attributes such as time, quantity, type, supplier, shelf life, etc., to achieve traceable management of goods.
  • Wave times: picking wave times, assigning wave times, order wave times, improve order processing and picking efficiency, and complete outbound tasks faster.

5. Report module

It includes the automatic generation of diversified reports such as inbound details, outbound details, inventory details, transfer details, inventory gains and losses, and inventory summaries.

6. Query function

Purchase order query, sales order query, individual product query, inventory query, etc. (user-defined). Querying is based on certain criteria: barcode serial number, outbound date, outbound customer, etc.

811 1
Passive RFID Tag Reader for Inventory Tracking
Item: SRSRU8-11
Protocol: ISO/IEC 18000-6C, EPCglobal Class 1 Gen 2

7. Performance Function

Clear understanding of each employee’s work situation, who is lazy and who is diligent, thus achieving piece rate wage management.

8. Historical query function

You can view past warehouse operation records, supplier records, customer records, etc.
